UPDATE - A Shakedown!
Oscaloosa, IA - August 10, 2009...
The Silva Motorsports team, with driver Shane Stewart, finished putting their spare car together with a 410 engine and decided to head over to Southern Iowa Speedway in Oscaloosa, Iowa for a shakedown run during the Front Row Challenge event Monday evening. The plan was to simply hot lap the car and qualify just to make sure everything was buttoned up correctly before tackling their qualifying night(Wednesday) at the Knoxville 410 Nationals.
In TJ's words: "We took down the spare car, put the 410 in it, and Shane went out and qualified fourth! I think we're gonna be pretty good for the Nationals! All the big teams are here in Oscaloosa, so we know we're pretty strong. Since this is the only car we have with us, Paul and Shane decided to just load it up and save it for Wednesday. I can't say enough how much fun I'm having and also how well everyone on Paul's team is treating me. We don't have a plane to just fly in like Kasey Kahne did tonight, but this is a pretty neat life. I'm getting to know some of the guys on other teams and meeting the other drivers. I also talked with John Dickinson and Jeff Bell tonight. John builds my wings at home, and Jeff races at Elma. It was cool to see some familiar faces. After Knoxville this coming weekend I'll be flying home, but this is really a lot of fun being out here."

The team will head back to Knoxville tonight and rest for a day before Shane's qualifying night on Wednesday. The Knoxville 410 Nationals is the creme de la creme for sprint car racing, and it looks like Paul Silva has his driver and team sitting in contention to do well. TJ's
home team wishes Silva Motorsports and Shane Stewart the best and safest of luck at this years Knoxville Nationals.
