TJ Hartman with Silva Motorsports - UPDATE - Show Me some old friends!
Cottage Grove, WA - July 25, 2009...
What are the odds that the Silva Motorsports team would roll into US36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri and park next to a couple of drivers TJ raced against dating back 10 years ago. When TJ won his first quarter midget national championship at the Hagerstown Speedway, he lined up next to Indiana native Miranda Throckmorton and New England standout David Gravel. The checkered flag(given to the winner) wears the signature of the(then) 8 year olds, and Wednesday evening proved to be sort of a reunion. There would be a race, with some of the best U.S. and Australian 410 sprint car drivers on the super fast US36 Raceway, where Shane Stewart would finish 9th.
In TJ's words: "It was fun to pull in and see Miranda and David. I talked with Miranda and her parents and it was pretty cool seeing them again. We're all growing up I guess. We finished 9th in the main event and Shane said we had the car just a little too loose for qualifying and too tight for the main event. You can definitely tell there's a 410 in the car and Shane said the car really reacts to clean or dirty air. We'll be doing some maintenance on the car and some laundry and then heading over to Belleville, Kansas for a race."
Next up for the Silva Motorsports Team is the Belleville High Banks and night 2 of 5 with the All Star Circuit of Champions Thunder Through the Plains. The storied facility, built in 1910 in Belleville, Kansas, touts itself as the "World's Fastest 1/2 Mile Dirt Track." Those who have raced the Belleville High Banks describe it as "BAD FAST!" Shane Stewart and the Silva Motorsports Team will be up for the challenge.
Next scheduled stop - Thursday Night Thunder in the Plains!
